High risk of depression due to work stress

A study reveals that people who feel chronic stress in their work place are at a high risk of getting depression. Researchers found that among more than 24,000 working Canadian adults, nearly 5 percent had suffered from major depression in the past year. Those under heavy stress at work appeared to be at particular risk, according to findings in the American Journal of Public Health. Other diseases like blood-pressure and heart also associated with chronic stress in work place. The result is quite different in case of women because depression is related with decision taking ability. One measure of job stress -- lack of support from co-workers and supervisors -- was related to depression in both men and women.
Proper medical attention should be given to the employees by the employer to skip this dreaded disease.

Stress can certainly lead to lots of health problems including high blood pressure, and other things. I know when I have felt down at times I have eaten some of the wrong foods too which isnt a good thing either. St Johns Wort is something I have taken in the past to help with down spells and I have liked it. No side effects either!

A new study of 1,000 workers in Europe found that stressful jobs accounted for 45 per cent of new cases of depression. The factors which the scientists isolated as being especially important were excessive demands on the job and extreme time pressures. Not only did they find that these workers, with an average age of 32, were experiencing a high percentage of job-related stress-induced depression, but there appeared to be a 40 percent increase in reports from workers of job stress. http://www.xanax-effects.com/

Dysthymic Disorder is characterized by chronic depression, but with less severity than a major depression. The essential symptom for dysthymic disorder is an almost daily depressed mood for at least two years, but without the necessary criteria for a major depression. Low energy, sleep or appetite disturbances and low self-esteem are usually part of the clinical picture as well. http://www.besthealthmed.com/depression.html

Stress and anxiety can be a destroyer. Simply put I try to deal with this each day by using tension meditation systems.
