Disability may be an outcome of obesity

Obesity is the most common problem in USA. Researchers found that obesity is bringing problems of disability as well as chronic kidney problem.
"Obesity is more hazardous to the health of the elderly than we previously suspected," said Dawn Alley of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, whose study appears in the Journal of the American Medical Association. "For an older person, suffering from obesity means they are much less likely to be able to walk to the front door or pick up a bag of groceries," she said.
Another study found that chronic kidney diseases are on rise among the aged population due to obesity. Chronic kidney disease patients who are also obese are much more likely than normal-weight patients to have a condition called hyperparathyroidism, which raises their risk of heart problems and death, according to US researchers.
Obesity is now a challenge to the society. We should be careful from the childhood.

It's too bad so many people in North America are so overweight. There is no reason for it.
