Common cold and kids

The common cold is a type of upper respiratory tract infection that is probably the most frequent type of infection in children. It is caused by rhinovirus when we inhale in air or come in contact. It is the most common infectious disease in the United States and the number-one reason children visit the doctor and stay home from school. More than hundred rhinoviruses attack the nose and throat causing the cold and throat infection.
The symptoms of the common cold include a runny nose with clear, yellow or green discharge, a cough, fever, sore throat and irritability. Symptoms usually last ten to fourteen days and will resolve on their own. Because the common cold is caused by viruses, antibiotics are not effective against it and they will not help us get better any faster. Since there is no medicine to cold we can supress it or get some relief.Vicks Vapor rub can be used to get relaxed. This vapor rub work 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even verystrong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremelysoothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. Some inhalers are also used by children. Vicks has no side effect.
