Babies born to diabetic mother are generally obese

According to the researchers the babies born to mothers who have diabetes during their pregnancy period are generally obese. The researchers surveyed 10000 pregnant mothers during 1995-2000 and reached this conclusion. The mothers who were treated for diabetese during their pregnancy had normal baby. Specifically, a child was 28 percent more likely to be overweight or obese when the glucose level of the mother during pregnancy was in the top range rather than the lowest.

All babies have their baby fat until they get to 3 or 4 or 5 years old.The researchers concluded that an obese kid of 5-7 yers were born to diabetic mother. There is a significant relation between their weight and blood sugar level of their mother during pregnancy. However the mothers with pre-existing diabetes were not counted in this survey.

Great information. Does this include the mothers who had gestation diabetes during their pregnancy? My daughter had gestation diabetes but was treated for it. I like your blog and I visit often to read your informative articles. I have added your link on my diabetic recipe blog as well as the one about Type 2 diabetes.
